During the Covid-19 pandemic,

I was inspired to create my home decor line. As a medical professional working directly with COVID-19 patients, I needed an outlet from work stress and found solace in my home. However, due to pandemic-related store closures, finding the products I needed to decorate my space was challenging. With my office temporarily closed, my fiancé and I spent much time cooking three meals daily at home. I researched and invested in new glassware and dinnerware for our meals to entertain ourselves. As someone who has always been interested in home decor, I noticed a lack of representation for black women-owned companies in stores like HomeGoods. Therefore, I created my line, Jilliontrinkets, to encourage and inspire other black women designers to pursue their passions in this industry.
